Many succulents and low water plants have a blue cast to their leaves. This is partially an adaptation to life in a sunny climate. The blue color helps reflect bright sunlight and prevents the leaves from burning and drying out. In the garden this same blue color can be show-stopper as many of the plants appear to glow.
